My review of Catherine Bybee's latest book, Faking Forever, Book 4 in the First Wives Club

From New York Times bestselling author Catherine Bybee comes a new First Wives novel about wanting a family…and finding love.

Shannon Wentworth’s biological clock is ticking, and she isn’t going to let her single status keep her from having a baby. When her wedding-photography business takes her to Mexico, she has every intention of finding a willing baby daddy to help her out. Until the bride goes AWOL, leaving Shannon to coddle the arrogant fiancé who has accused her of sabotaging his wedding.

Victor Brooks never could have imagined that he’d be on a honeymoon for one. Only here he is, taking a hard look at his life after the younger women he thought he loved walked out. The woman who volunteers to help him reflect is the last person he expects to be attracted to. Between the tequila, the sun, and one earth-shattering kiss, Victor finds Shannon a distraction too sexy to ignore.

They strike a deal: wait three months, cool off, and see if their tropical beach attraction is worth taking up when they go back home. Unfortunately, that’s just enough time for the past to come calling. All their best-laid plans are at risk. So is the last thing Shannon expected to matter the most: her heart.

If you haven't read Catherine Bybee, you are missing out!  She writes "from the heart", passionate romance stories that will grab your attention and not let go!.

Shannon is the quiet one of the First Wives Club. She never draws attention to herself and stays in the background, participating but not leading. So when she announces that she is ready to have a baby, and is going on the hunt for a sperm donor, all the Wives are shocked. A photography shoot for a wedding in Tulum, Mexico seems to provide the perfect opportunity.

Victor is a workaholic, always tied up in meetings, and rarely available to his fiancee'. On the way to his destination wedding, he runs into Shannon and makes a very poor impression. Upon learning she is the photographer for the wedding, he is stunned. An attraction is kindled, and the flames rise higher when his finacee' bolts right before going down the aisle.

Two very different people come together in a magical place. The descriptions of Tulum, Mexico make you see the scene and add to the building romance between Shannon and Victor. Wanting to make sure that the attraction they feel is real and not a product of a holiday dream, they agree to wait 90 days, and meet again in California. Lies, threats, and misconceptions all collude to derail a relationship that is tenuous and fragile.

I have loved all of the First Wives Club books, and I awaited this one with high anticipation. The wait was definitely worth it!  Sexy, romantic, with a touch of danger, this book is a keeper!
